How to disable Sound Card

I want to disable my Built in Sound card. Plz guyide me that how can i do it. Preior i had disable the Audio sound from Set up and then save it but when windows loads it automatically enable my sound card .I also even remove the drivers from System> Device manager but did't success. Actually i have no manual of my MObo that is why iam facing proble. What do u think that if u insert a new sound card than will it pick or not ? Thanks

Go into the BIOS (tap delete on bootup) and disable the onboard sound in there.

ok Paul ..on CMOs it is disable but in windows it is still showing my Sound Icon. Waht do u think that if i insert a new sound card in PCI slot than it will automatically disable my previous sound card or not ?

There is no real need to disable the onboard sound adapter. You can have multiple sound cards. You can choose which one to use at any particular time by going to the Control Panel > Multimedia > Audio tab
