Is there a way to determine a hard drives size by looking at the number of cylinders/heads/ sectors?

You don't know it, but you have almost answered your own question. Multiply the number of cylinders, heads, and sectors and you will have the hard drive size.

I think the above reply is incorrect.
If you check out the makers web site for a particular model, frequently there are different sizes for that hdd, depending on its application.
However as a general rule of thumb the formula is:-
cylinders x heads x sectors x 512(bytes per sector)
Hope this helps.
Good luck - keep us posted.
