Write protected? You should have no problem copying a write protected CD to your computer. Write protected means you cannot write to the CD, which you cannot do if the CD is closed.

More details would help. Without details, we're left to guess and assume on what you're asking.

If you want to copy an exact "image" of a CD to your hard drive, check out CD2ISO.
