How to connect the PC to the TV via HDMI cable

March 30, 2016 at 05:26:20
Specs: Windows 10, i7-4770 3.40GHz / 8gb
When I connect the PC with the HDMI cable (video card port//gtx760) to the TV, it doesn't detected it and brings me this message: "This source is not connected. Check the connection status."
Instead if I connect the HDMI cable to the PC (through motherboard port) the TV detects the presence of the cable, but without working (and if it did, however, the resolution would be bad).
So my question is: why the TV does not detect the PC while is connected through the HDMI cable? And what can I do to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

First take the HDMI and plug it in to the PC then look at the other end of the plug and look at you TV and find the same shape and plug it in

Emm, you just told me to simply connect the cable in the PC and in the TV? Because if yes, maybe you didn't get my problem.

Can you post more details re' your computer, and the actual hdmi tv - make/model of each?

I think what Nathaniel was asking was for you to verify you are using the correct cable, and plugging the ends into the correct socket(s). More than one person has tried to connect cdmi cables to usb ports...

Also do you have another hdmi cable you could try; and equally any way to test the cable you have using it with/on another working system/combination?
