To plug in an older ps/2 keyboard into a USB on a windows 7 machine. When i plug it in, nothing happens. The device is not even recognized. How can i make this work? Is there a driver to download?

Probably not. Those adapters are a hit and miss deal. Some old PS/2 keyboards will work, some will only work with a specific adapter, some won't connect to USB at all.

Why not just buy a USB keyboard for about the same money?

Hi Joe,

surely this adapter is for connecting a usb device (k/b or mouse) to a ps2 port, not the other way around, which you appear to be trying.

As Skip advises, using such anyway can be hit and miss. This is because the device being connected has to be compatible With BOTH usb and ps2 signals.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
