Do you know how to boot into BIOS Setup ?
That is where you make the permanent change to boot order.
I usually have mine set to Floppy first followed by CD then Hard Drive.
It sounds like you have only the floppy selected in BIOS and you then manually select the HD option when it fails to find a bootable floppy in the drive.
If you set them as 1=floppy, 2= CD & 3=Hard Drive then when you boot up if there is no floppy disk it autmatically tries the next option etc until it finds the HD.
