Hi Folks,

We are solving the PC Problem through Remote Desktop/VNC. But some of the PCs we are unable to take due to the Windows firewall which is ON. Is there any tool which can by pass windows firewall to do remote administration.

Thanks in advance

Asai

Yes, there is a tool. Its called an on/off switch. Just turn it off.

Control Panel > Security Centre.

It wouldn't be much of a firewall if you could bypass or turn it off remotely.

No one suggested the exceptions list. Wouldn't that be the best thing to do?

You say:
"Remote Desktop/VNC" are you referring to Windows RDC or to the product by the name of "VNC"?

If using Windows Remote Desktop Connection and it is enabled on any XP Pro PC it will automatically configure Windows Firewall to allow the connection.

Again, if using Windows RDC then I would guess that you are trying to log in using an account/profile that has not yet been established/set on the host PC to allow a remote connection.

If using VNC then follow the previously provided info.
