hey, when you build a comp, you know you can just keep adding harddrive space for example add a 40 GB to a 40GB to make it 80, or add MBRAM from like 128ram to 256, can you add GH, like i have 1 GH can i just add 1 other GH to make it 2 GH or will i have to have a new mother board.

You could upgrade to a 2GHz processor if your motherboard supports it. If you mean using two processors, you would need a dual-processor motherboard. Note that it is GHz, not GH. GHz stands for gigahertz, or one billion cycles per second. Upgrading a processor is not for newbies.

PIII's only went up to 1.4GHz, so most likely your mobo will only support up to 1.4GHz(depends on the model)Unlike RAM & HDD's you can't just slap more GHz in there.
You can overclock (again, mobo support)to gain more speed, but your best bet is to upgrade mobo, cpu and ram.
You could upgrade to the following for about $350.00.

Asus P4S800 mobo...................$ 70.00
P4 2.6GHz 800FSB...................$170.00
OCZ DDR400 PC3200 512MB............$100.00

That would be a nice little set up without breaking the bank, just my 2 cents.

If your really set on upgrading your computer and not buying a new one, can you tell us what kind of motherboard you have. Also Dick was absolutely correct, upgrading a processor is definetely not for newbies, if your not careful you can crack the core and your 100 and something $ CPU becomes a novelty keychain thingy.
