hi all - no, i'm not quite as stupid as the header sounds. just new to do-it-yourself setup. the configured computer I ordered from Magic Micro arrived today, after their tech support went home. I ordered it without operating system installed. There wasn't even a scrap of paper in the box telling me what to do next - just driver cds, cords, etc. In my ignorance I attached my monitor, keyboard, etc., knowing their drivers weren't installed, and plugged it in to see what would happen. The screen stayed blank and the computer beeped every three seconds as if it was in pain. so I turned it off. Do I have to wait til Monday to talk to their tech support and start setting up my new computer? any help welcome.

Drivers don't mean squat...you have a blank HDD with no operating system. You have a hardware problem, not a software problem.
Open the case & make sure all the cards & RAM are fully seated in their slots.
BTW, what version of Windows are you gonna install?
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz
512MB PC3200
Asus Ti4200 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro
