Subject: How much should I sell my PC for?
OS: Win XP
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2600+/512MB RAM
Comment:

I've got some PC components at home and I'm going to put them in a normal case and then sell the PC. I'm not sure how much (in £ preferably) I should sell it for. I know you can get similar spec PCs brand new for £500.

This is the spec:

AMD Duron 1800 processor
512MB RAM
120GB HDD
16x DVD drive
DVD-RW drive
SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital sound card
128MB ATI Radeon 9600SE graphics card
Windows XP and SUSE Linux Professional 9.0 pre-installed

15" llyama Vision Master 350 CRT monitor
Hewlett Packard DeskJet 610C printer
2 Speakers

Paul

Market rates are irrelevant.

In Britain, stuff is far expensive.

I'd say if it is near market price, go for it. I wouldnt' bother with SUSE linux on it though. Anyone that uses linux could no doubt build their own machine and most who needs a machine built are unlikely to want to mess with Linux.

Just a thought. Some things put some people off. Gets too techie for them.

XxxFrancisxxxUSA,

Yeah you're rite the market rate is irrelevant. I'm on the other side of Atlantic so I sought the dollar equivalent of the Pound for my own curiosity.

I am too on the other side, lol. But I am a Brit, lol, so I have had to live the horror of UK pricing on PC equipment! But... It is getting better, (yeah right, and I get free merchanidse after rebates in CompUSA which will NEVER happen in the UK!!!!!)
