The price comparison site Pricewatch lists some decent looking deals. Look at the "Ultra ATA / EIDE 3.5inch" section.
Calling them PATA is new, we used to call them EIDE or just IDE drives. If you have a machine that has support for IDE drives you are lucky and you can get get fast parallel data transfer at very low cost. Even cheaper than SATA drives at lower transfer rate,
It's just "advancement" of technology: slower but more expensive.Best
