G'day,

I'm planning on going overseas for 8 weeks and would like to leave my computer unplugged. How long can a computer be unplugged from the wall before the internal battery will "fail".

Will there be any serious problems if I leave it unplugged for 8 weeks?

Cheers,
Stu.

not likely all it will do is lose its bios settings and the batterys are lithium so they
can last a few years easily

Unless your battery is several years old and about to fail, nothing will happen.

lithium batteries last about 2 years in digital watches.

Given they do even less work maintaining your bios settings, they will last even longer than that.

Like RAC said, you could leave it off for months, and nothing will happen (unless of course, the battery is already years old!!!!!).
