No audio even when playing music? Go to Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices> Sounds & Audio Devices Properties and try to adjust the volume slider to high. If u can't then audio driver is missing or audio is disabled in BIOS.You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.
Sound only comes from an external monitor if it has speakers built in to it.
If it does, you must connect an audio cable from the back of the monitor to the "speaker out" jack on your computer's sound adapter.Otherwise use earphones or speakers plugged into the sound adapter.
Assumed your sound devices worked fine and suddenly stopped working, go to Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices and select as working device the standard speakers. Sometime the default audio output is redirected to an auxiliary port without devices connected.
