Hi, I have a 250w PSU that is going to be very over worked. I plan on buying a new one, and would like to know the ropes before I start. From what i can see, all I have to do is unplug my old PSU from all the drives, mobo...etc, take it out, put in the new one, and wherever I took out a power cord, I plug in a new one from the new PSU into the mobo, drives...etc, is that about it? or anything I should know? Thanks for the help in advance

If there is a cable going from the power supply to the power switch, it is an AT style. Those are a bit dicey to change.
ATX style has no cable to power switch FROM power supply. Those are EASY to change, though in either case, you have to unplug all the drives and from the mobo.
If your case has no metal plane that the psu sits on, lay the case on its side and hold onto the psu for both removing and installing.
ATX supplies are all same physical dimensions.
I replaced a 250 with a 350 for a friend as part of a system upgrade. Just take a bit of care while working inside a computer case.
