Hi all,

I setup a box about a year ago with two Seagate 500's mirrored as RAID 1. How can I check on the status of that RAID to know if both drives are working properly? This machine is very rarely rebooted so I can't look at POST data to see any status that way. It is only connected to a UPS and the network. no monitor, KB, or mouse. It acts as a little file server, which is why it's only rebooted once in a blue moon.

All I want to know is if the RAID is still working or not.

Thanks,
Chuck

For my own little network setup I was using TightVNC to log in remotely to my server to check it's status. Eventually, since my server is physically adjacent to my main system I installed a KVM switch and now just switch over the control. ( I actually have three systems connected to the KVM and control them all using a single keyboard/mouse & monitor)

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
