Check this site. Start in the Newbie section, upper left.

There are many steps, but it is a simple process.

At the very top, left pane, it says VCD Help. Under that there are 4 links shaded blue under the heading "what is."

Just under that section there is a green "How To" section. Newbie is the first link.

The last section is other. The first selection is capture cards. If you do not have a video card with rca inputs (from the vcr), you will need to buy a capture device. Dazzle sells an external usb one pretty cheap. You can pick it up at office max, target or walmart.

I am very sorry. Very stupid mistake - I did not place the site in my original post.
