Your mobo manual has a raid migration section for moving from a single disk system to a two-disk raid system.

Beyond that, you will benefit from others who have your mobo. some are here:

raid is impractical for home use in my opinion. raid 0 is disk striping which basically combines multiple hard drives (or parititions of separate harddrives) as one.

of course if your just a geek and wanna try new things.. go ahead. warning.. striping is not undoable.

actually windows (i did it once on windows 2k server) does support software disk striping). its done using disk manager. say you have a 40 gig HD and a 80 gig. you can use striping to combine to have 1 big 120 gig partition. hehehe. you can always add.. but you cannot subtract without losing all data. also, if one drive goes bad, u lose all data.

One thing to consider when bilding a raid array.

Start fresh !!

2 clean identical drives.
Build the raid 0 array from scratch
Use the F6 option when windows boots for the first time, and partition in the normal manner.

For a board with IDE raid take note which IDE raid port you plug the Hard drives in, it becomes usefull should you come across any problems and need to rebuild the raid array at any point in time.

Most modern raid controllers will allow you to remove and replace a hard drive even raid 0, but you must have the diagnostics loaded and running.

Once you have replaced the bad drive the software will rebuild the array for you.

Hope that is some help to you.
