Reply: (edit)If you are able to post to the BIOS screen, enable your CDROM as first boot device. Insert your XP sytem disk. Reboot. XP install screen will fire up. During install procedure the partition/format screen will appear, and you know what to do from there.

Reply: (edit)I think you should call Microsoft before you begin. You will not be able to activate XP on a new machine (mobo probably counts as new machine), as it is already activated on your old one.

Reply: (edit)Depends how long it was since it was activated on the old machine. If its more than 90 days then there won't be a problem. The slate is cleared after 90 days. If its within the 90 days and you need to call Microsoft you will have to install the OS first. It will produce a new hardware code which you then tell Microsoft who will then give you a new activation code which you enter manually. Stuart

Reply: (edit)First, I am not sure that a RAID setting would cause your error (but it would be good to eliminate the possibility). Second, did you check to make sure that SCSI support was disabled? It will depend on your motherboard. You need to check the documentation. The raid setup may be controlled by jumper.
