how do i reformat my WD hd from udf to ntfs

Specs: Windows 7

I have a WD passport that my tv formatted to udf now i would need to reformat it back to ntfs

You do realize that formatting will wipe all the files on the drive?

Go the Disk Management and attempt to format the partition from there. If Windows doesn't recognize the partition type then simply delete the partition and recreate it. Then format using NTFS.

thanks Im not wanting whats on the hd, windows does not reconize the drive so how do i delete and recreate it. thanking you for your help.

Did you look in Disk Management or just in Computer?

I assume that means you didn't see the drive listed there either? Regardless of how the hard drive is formatted or not, it should appear in Disk Management. If it isn't then there may be something wrong with it.

Is the drive USB powered or does it have an AC power adapter?

The enclosure should also be listed in Device Manager, even if the drive were dead. Check there too. Should be listed under USB devices.
