The mb instruction booklet has very detailed instructions. If you have problems, come back with your questions.

If I posted a complete manual on building a box, KTTD would throw a fit. It would be longer than a Hijack This report.
As a basic, First lay out all the components you are going to use on your workbench. Ground youself on a waterpipe, faucet, etc.
Take your mainboard, sit it on your bench on top of the foam packer (to protect the bottom contacts)and install the CPU/heatsink, (1) stick RAM, and your video card (you don't have to install the drivers at this point-you can't anyway). Put a layer of packing foam/insulation on the bottom of your case, sit the mobo on it in the case (be careful there are no shorts from the case and the bottom of the board) and plug in the power supply to the mainboard. Find the tiny plug from the power switch and plug it into the small socket on the mainboard (it's in your manual). Plug your monitor in to the video card and power up. You should see the BIOS screen come up on the monitor. If you don't, start troubleshooting.
Do all this first before you install everything. Getting the BIOS screen tells you:
>Your CPU is running properly;
>Your CPU is mounted properly on the heatsink;
>Your video card is functional;
>Your mainboard is not DOA;
>Your memory is good (at least to this point);
>Your monitor is good.
After you install everything and have a problem, it's very difficult to figure out which thing is causing it.

Good post ranchhand.....I get a bunch of so called experts putting an entire system together down to buttoning up the case and ain't ever even turned it on. Then ask me whats wrong when it won't boot. ALWAYS put the basic together first....MB, CPU, RAM and video card and power it up and check these components. Then start adding other parts one at a time. It really is easier to trouble shoot conflicts this way.

I appreciate your concern "opman" but no where in my post did I deem myself and "expert". If I was an expert I wouldn't be asking for advice on this board. If you want to make a condescending congratulatory slap in the ass to Ranchhand then send it to him directly......keep if off my post.
I've noticed a lot a smart ass remarks being posted on this board lately and find it quite childish. Live by the rule that there are no stupid questions...only stupid people giving answers. You are not required to reply to anybody on this board and if a question is way below your'e vast knowledge then ignore it. It takes just as much effort to type something demeaning as it does to be sincere.
