how do I diminish water damage to speaker?

Specs: Windows Vista
I accidently turned glass of water over and some went inside back of speaker where several plugs are plugged into. Now it's cracking and popping and smoke coming out of the back.. It's my boyfriend's system and he will be home soon. Anything I can do now to help??

You should have let it dry out before powering it up. The damage is probably done. But if they're not sealed you might try getting a screwdriver and opening them up. Shake out, wipe or dab out the water. Maybe try using a hair dryer on low heat to dry it out.
