My computer keeps restarting on its own. I have run the virus scan, and even changed the settings by reading your postings, to change it to the blue screen before it restarts. Well, it is still restarting on its own. The message came up that I need more memory. Can someone help me with this problem?

Have you updated your virus definitions?
After what period of time does it reboot?
How much memory do you actually have?
If you can answer these, I'd be more than happy to help further. :)
CHECK OUT MY MUSIC AT HTTP:\\ROAST.DMUSIC.COM
1Ghz PII 256mb RAM
Aopen MX3WPRO-E mobo
Intel 810 chipset
64MB Sapphire Radeon 7000 PCI

How do i check the memory, I cant find it in the control panel? It is random restarts, usually for sure in the middle of the night, even if I leave it off during the day, it seems that it just randomly will do this, especially if I have been using it for several hours. I have spyware on this, and SBC anti spy, and Zone alarm, that I just looked and it is not updated. This has been going on for months now.
And Thank you!
Going to get norton on Ebay now. :) unless what I have is enough. Oh yes, I ran a system scan from a site my good friend recommeneded, and it came back all clear no virus nothing wrong with the hardware either. Hopefully that helps. That was just yesterday.
Thanks :)

Right click My Computer, hit Properties. That will tell you how much RAM you have.
And heres some advice....If you dont want a slow computer, DONT GET NORTON! It hogs your systems resources. There are far better products availible. Try AVG Antivirus, its free (Although not as good as it used to be, but good nonetheless) or AntiVir....Thats a very good, free antivirus program.
Hope that helps. :)

OK so I guess I already did that in the desription above. I do know more than I think. So, I guess I have 512 Mb of Ram, 1.4 Ghz. So, I think that is alot. Going for the free virus thingy. Thanks. I will be back. THANKS SO MUCH!! :)

ok have virus protector, but updated with the above. nothing came up. What now? Is that memory ok? Can i delete some things anyways? i tried in the control panel, but not everything shows up I would like to remove. I know there is another way, I just dont remember. How do I stop so many things from loading in my tray as well upon start up?
:)

OK So the error keeps coming up on the blue screen now... that says something about critical memory.. then a bunch of codes as others have stated on this site.. so what about that? Did I loose you? Memory? Take it somewhere? Restore it? help me please before I loose information.. thanks!
