how come i cant get the GTX460 Card to work in the Intel DP55KG PCIe 16x Slot?
It seems to work when I put it in the 8x slot. Once I loaded Windows 7 64 bit, i transferred the GTX460 Card onto the 16x slot, saw video, Windows 7 said configuring updates...then gave me an error saying unable to configure updates, Win 7 is shutting down. What that happened, the PC reboot and the intel dp55kg gave me the same errors as before...the 2 beeps during the startup sequence indicating it could not detect a graphics card.

I put the card back over to the PCIe 8x slot, rebooted, and got my video back.
At that point, i had to go to the Microsoft site and use the Fix Tool to reinitalize the Windows 7 updates.

any ideas if I can use that 16x slot with this video card?
thank you.

uninstall all drivers video drivers. Turn comp off. Switch slots. Go in bios and make sure the correct slot is selected for default video card. Start comp. Reinstall video card drivers.
