How about you tell us what "everythings" you have tried so we don't waste time suggesting things you have already done such as re-installing drivers from your motherboard driver disk, Deleting the soundcard in device-manager and letting windows re-discover it on reboot, Rolling the system back using System Restore to a point before the problem arose. You might also consider letting us know make/model numbers of your system if OEM or motherboard if a custombuilt as well as if you are using onboard sound or a plug-in card.
Reinstall the SoundMax sound drivers. If you don't have the drivers disc, go to the manufacturer's website & download them. Can't help you with that because you didn't list the make/model of your computer or motherboard.
