Hello All
I have had this comp. since the end of 99 and have been pretty lucky with it I guess as I am by no means a "Power User" if you will. I have been able to take care of all the maint. and replacement parts with little or no trouble. What I was wandering is, I am about to pull it all apart again just to clean the dust and such out of it again. I do this about once a month or so. Is there anything I should pay special attention to?

You shouldn't have to take your pc apart to clean it.. but that depends on how dirty it is.

Since you do this once a month, and you say you've had no problems so far, you're probably doing everything right. Just remeber to discharge all static e from your body by touching the side of the case once and a while, while you work.

I dust my comps out by setting them on their sides and then I blow them out with a compressed can of air and suck up the accumulated dust with a vaccum.

Also, if you have frontal case fans blowing air infront of the harddrive, make sure you pay special attention to that area as it can be extremely dirty.

CPU heatsink and fan.
Power supply fan.
If you have a dusty environment, you might 'consider' opening up the power supply and blowing it out. BUT ...
