Alright I am sick of this laptop making my legs sweat when i use it for a while. My fan never turns on. I know its working because when i turn on my computer the fan goes on for a minute. My bios doesent have a fan setting so is here a program i can use to control the fan speed?

On your legs!?!? Put something hard under your laptop (ie: on top of your legs) like a tray or piece of wood. Sitting it on your legs likely covers the intakes for air and will cause it to overheat. This will help your unit run cooler and keep your legs from sweating....

How fast is the processer? A slower computer (under 1GHz) probably won't get that hot. The laptop would make my legs sweat too if I had it on my lap.

Did you try a new fan? There about $4 these days! Not having a fan can do some serious damage to your pc. I would have to say The money is worth it. What are the specs?

a) Once upon a time my laptop fan stopped working for no good reason, so I used a vacumm and sucked all the dust and crap out right out of the bottom air outtake to try to kick-start it again, it worked and the fan still runs to date.
b) I read somewhere that prolonged daily use of a laptop (on ones lap) can damage your sperm quality.
Peace.

addendum to the above post...DONT use a vacuum on your system. use a can of compressed air, a vacuum can create static electricity!
