Subject: Hook Computer Speakers to TVOS: XPCPU/Ram: P4 1.6GHZ |
Comment: Hello I was wondering is there an adaptor that will connect Computer Speakers to a TV. I know you can hook your computer to a stereo or the tv speakers using a y cable. But is there an adaptor if I want to connect my computer speakers up to the TV. Thanks

Reply: (edit)You can connect the speakers through the TV`s headphone socket if it has one, but if it is a mono TV you will get sound only through the left channel. In this case you need to make the connection through a stereo synthesizer.

Reply: (edit)I'm also trying to do the same thing. My TV has no headphone socket, but it has a red and white RCA output. Here's what I did: A/ Connect a KOSS "1/4 inch stereo jack to 2 RCA plugs" into TV audio outputs (red and white) B/ Connect a Radio Shack "1/8 Phone Jack to 1/4 Mono Phone Plug" into the 1/4 end of the KOSS wire C/ Connect my computer speaker's 1/4 (male) plug into the 1/4 Radio Shack plug (female) This works, but I only get sound out of the left speaker. I think the problem is that the Radio Shack adpater (274-325D) is mono. Does anyone know if I can find a similar adapter in stereo?
