Comment:

I just recently put together a new pc with the P4P800 Deluxe motherboard.
A new 2.6 ghz pentium 4 chip, and a new ATI 9600 pro video card. It has one
stick of 512 meg,DDR PC 3200 ram. I power up and all the fans work, all leds,
floppy, and cdrom lights come on and stay on. I don't hear any POST and there is
no picture on the monitor.

If sidney's suggestion doesnt solve the problem I would start looking at you cable connections. Floppy and CD lights lights staying on indicates a cable plugged in the wrong way.

The floppy can be the most problamatic as there are four ways of plugging in the cable and only one is correct. Make sure you use then end connector and match up pin one on the floppy and the motherboard. Pin one on the cable is indicated by a red strip down the edge.

Failing that it could be something a simple as the video card not seated properly. They can be a bit awkward at times. Just take it out and re-seat it, making sure that screwing the nut in doesn't pull the other end out as sometimes happens.

When I had posted this, I hadn't trouble shot much. I just finished building the pc turned it on and had the problem. I did a few small things , then had to go to work. I just wanted to get some people's opinions. Anyway, I have fixed it and am on to the next phase of the process.

I tore everything apart and put it back together, down to the chip, so I don't know exactly what fixed it. However, just sitting there looking at my CMOS battery, I pushed on it and it seemed to be slightly unseated. I am not sure but this may have been the fix since none of the POST seemed to be happening. Thank to those who responded to me.

It probably was not the CMOS battery. It will not `normally' prevent a successful POST.
