Specs: Windows XP
Hi,i have a problem getting a second hard drive to work, which came from an old computer which has packed up.The reason I want to access the second hard drive is to get some photos from it.
I connected it up with a new computer, first of all trying to boot straight from it.That didn't work so I changed it to a slave and managed the first time to acess the photos,This was only loosely connected and when I pushed the computer back the wire strap was strained and the connection to plastic holder which ties in with the strap and the pins came disconected. On replacing the strap with a new one, I can't boot into the pc.unless I first disconnect the slave.I have tried starting with the slave disconnected then connect it when pc has booted in to windows but still can't acess slave HD.
I would appreciate any ideas how I could access these photos,I know this is a hard one.

Put it in an external enclosure.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

The drive may have been ruined when it disconnected or if you reconnected it when the power was on.
