Hi everyone, my HP laptop goes blank screen

When I start the computer I see the hp logo and then it takes me to a blank screen with a blinking line of top left side of the screen. When I press the esc key, it takes me to a screen with options however when I select the last two like safe boot it takes me back to blank screen, however I am able to access bios, but not sure what to do from there. Any help would be much appreciated. At the moment since I am traveling the cd option is not feasible for me. And regarding the system restore, how can I access it? Because when I turn on the laptop it shows the hp logo and then directly goes to a blank screen with a blinking line on top left corner, from where I cannot do anything. Any more ideas? Thanks.
