Why do you `not' want to format? Do you want to rescue the data on the drive? I don't think rescuing the data after repartitioning is very likely.

Ontrack's 'Easy Recovery Pro' (http://www.ontrack.com) and PowerQuest's 'Lost and Found' (http://www.powerquest.com) are excellent data recovery programs. They can recover data after a format, but I don't know about after a repartition.

you can try PC INSPECOR file recovery program http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm
"To be able to use PC INSPECTOR™ File Recovery 3.x you need a working WINDOWS™ System. Never install the current version on the drive from which you intend to recover data! The software must be installed and run on a second, independent drive"
