I have just bought a new laptop and I attempted to download some movies online. Instead of saving them on my laptop I saved them on a flashdrive and when I went to play them on windows media player they wouldnt play. I needed a avi. codec so got some software on line and it fixed the problem, but now I can't play wmv. what do I do? Do reinstall windows media player?

The avi files most of the time will not play from a non-local drive. If you had moved them to the local computer, they would have played for you.

Where are the wmv files?
