I recently puchased a USB infrared device for my home PC, to help synchronise with my 5mx Psion (as the port does not work9 THe model is Bafo BF-120 IrDA Wirelss connection. But it does not seem to recognise the psion, i created the virtual comport and used hyperterminal to connect but no use, I tried the IR port on an IPAQ (which I know works)and no response . Could it be the mother board -K7S5A with the SSIS 735 chipset any help here please?!?!??!?!?!?!?

I haven't had the pleasure (?) of trying my IR port yet, but I have read about the problems some have with them.
I assume that you made sure the IR port is enabled in your BIOS? I also read somewhere that there are two types of IR. I don't know the difference. Google might help on that.
