Help with strange hard drive noise

Hi, im sure my 200GB Maxtor drive is making a strange noise, it only happens when i first switch on my cold computer, it lasts for around 10mins, and then when its warmed up the sound dissappears, please help! I dont want a premature hard drive failure on my hands what is it?!?!?
