Comment: Hello all, I just hooked up a microsoft router mn-100 for my laptop and desktop. Cable modem works fine for both of them. I am havin a problem getting the shared files together. The desktop recogizes the network but the laptop does not. I have tried it as the directions go, but no luck. Please help with exact steps to get the computers to recognize each others files. Thanks

Reply: (edit) ============================================================= First you must ensure that the laptop has network services installed and enabled. In control panel double click add/remove programs. Click windows tab. Select all network options. Reboot. Go to system properties and ensure that you have given your system a network name (MSHOME, WORKGROUP etc...). After doing this (and rebooting again) ensure that DHCP is enabled under network components. Reboot again....After all is said and done, you should now be able to map the computer over the network to your laptop and visa versa... borelli34
