Comment:

I building a new computer. I mainly use the computer for internet, games, photo and video editing.

I am thinking of buying a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is that a good CPU? I would like a good speedy MOBO with plenty of expansion room to go with it can someone recommend one? I am thinking of expanding up to 4GB of RAM and a SLI connection in the future. I want to connect the PC to my television and XBOX 360 so this has to be took into consideration.

Can someone recommend a good but relatively cheap graphic card that can handle present and future games? I also need a good sound card for surround sound.

And a good case with loads of room and easy access. One that I can show off too lol.

I would like to keep relatively cheap but still have a good system that will last. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

You're not gonna get all that for "relatively cheap", but I guess that depends on what your definition of "relatively cheap" is....

The X2 6000+ is gonna cost close to $200 all by itself.

A decent board will cost you about $150:

4GB DDR2-800 RAM (2 x 2GB) will cost $220:

Here's a cheap gaming video card for $90 (after rebate):

Here's a nice flashy case for about $160:

And figure another $100 +/- for a decent 500W (or higher) power supply.

That puts the total at roughly $900 without the floppy, HDD(s) or optical drive(s).

I would call $900 (£500) very reasonable as a start point............

What country are you in by the way ?

Yeah I would say £500 is a great price. My budget would of been £600-£650

You could actually knock the cost down by close to $100 by choosing a different case.
