hi all

i got;
Model Family:Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 family
Device Model:ST380211AS
Serial Number:6PS236NT
Firmware Version:3.AAE
User Capacity:80,026,361,856 bytes

with 5 SMART Pre-fail error msg;
Raw_Read_Error_Rate - Pre-fail
Spin_Up_Time - Pre-fail
Reallocated_Sector_Ct - Pre-fail
Seek_Error_Rate - Pre-fail
Spin_Retry_Count - Pre-fail

this hard drive passed 100% low level format
this hard drive passed 100% wipe out process
this hard drive passed 100% write/read test

any one have suggestion how to permanently disable smart capability?
how about firmware upgrade?

Pre-fail indicates to me that the parameters are still within range but have been sliding downward. Heed the warnings and back up you drive.

If you insist on ignoring SMART then turn it off in the BIOS.
