I have a dell lattitude D630..and all of a sudden the screen have gone all black and red..is there a way to fix this or not..??
anyone pleasee help..!!

Apparently this is a laptop model that first came out in about May of 2007.
Laptop main batteries typically work as they should for a year, then they begin to rapidly deteriorate. By the second year they typically cannot be charged up to anywhere near their full rated capacity. Have you replaced the main battery yet?
.....You haven't told us much.
Does the hard drive led seem to blink as it normally does while the computer is booting?
If yes, try connecting a monitor to the VGA port on the base, when the computer is shut off, and then trying the computer.
If the display on the monitor is then fine, everything seems normal in Windows, then, probably
- your backlight or the voltage inverter that supplies it with high voltage is failing or is dead. If you have noticed a colored tint to the display previous to this, then your backlight has probably burnt out. Those parts are relatively cheap but replacing the backlight requires very careful removal and replacement. For some info about replacing a voltage inverter or backlight, and what some typical symptoms are, see response 5 in this:
http://www.computing.net/hardware/w...- OR - less commonly - you have broken wires between the base and the LCD display in the lid, probably where the wires pass through the hinge. This can happen to any laptop over time and depends directly on how often the laptop has been opened and closed. You MAY get a display when the lid is in certain positions, and NOT get a display when it is in other positions. That wiring is a frequently replaced part, and not all that expensive to replace.
Dell probably has a Service manual for your model on their web site you could examine, if you may want to tackle the job yourself
