I need help!!!

I fried my mobo, so can I fix my ASUS P4T mobo? Is there a jumper I can remove to fix the BIOS? What about the battery? can i re- flash the bios?

I have-

230Watt Pwr supply,
256mb RAMBUS RAM,
2GB HDD (old!)
32mb Vid card,
1.5G P4 skt 423,
ASUS P4T mobo

Dude, according to your other post, you fried EVERYTHING!! So why are you even asking this question?

I'm still unsure of what you did. There are threaded brass spacers (or standoffs) that screw into the chassis...& the motherboard gets screwed to these spacers. Since you said this was already assembled & you took it apart to do a "mod", those spacers shouldn't have been removed, just the screws that hold the board to the spacers. What exactly did you do?

Regardless, it sounds like you need an entire new computer anyway. I'm sure the power supply is toast, & it's not very smart to open one up & poke around. The capacitors can hold a charge for a while...enough to knock you on your A$$ or worse.....

BTW, where did you send it for testing? Any reputable place would have told you EXACTLY what was wrong. Dead is dead...

You are in fact "doomed" with that motherboard.

One question though...why did you take the spacers off the bottom of the motherboard and put them on top? Sorry, but I just gotta ask.

Yeah why did you put the spacers on top!? That's just asking for a dead motherboard a fire and possibly a small explosion. LOL

I am almost positive you killed the thing, but did you try another PSU?

they were the little washers, not the actual spacers. soz for the confusion...
