help installing pioneer dvd rewrir

Having major issues installing my new Pioneer 112d DVD rewriter. I have set this as the slave & my existing DVD reader as the master using the jumpers & these are connected via IDE cables. The PC boots up OK but neither drive will read any discs.

Try booting into the BIOS screens and check to see that all 4 drive settings are enabled to auto or cd. Then check to verify the secondary IDE controller is enabled. You will find that listing further back on a different screen.
You need to watch the startup screens. If the drives don't appear there by model number then you won't get them working in Windows. If you can't see the startup screens then disable fast boot and any logos in the BIOS screens.

How was the jumper set on your original optical drive? Some OEM systems prefer the CS (cable select) jumper setting.

To prove a jumper or cabling error, disconnect each drive and try the other one alone.
