I have an adapter produced by Diamond Multimedia.
I have no idea how old it is. I have checked the Diamond Multimedia site but can not find anything like it.The unit looks like a feed thru. Being a 25 pin m/f with some type socket on top of it.
The top socket is flat 5/8" x 1/8 with contacts on the bottom and having about 14-16. Sorry I can not give you accurate contact count, the contacts are too small for me to count.
I know the top connector is not a usb socket. However it kind of look like a data link cable for a cellphone.
I did a search of Google images and found this image which looks like the male end but has too few contacts.

Look for numbers on the card; especially a FCC ID Number.
If I understand you right (2 25 pin dsub ports?), you're probably right about the pass through (feed thru) part.
Edit:
This is probably part of a dvd decoder kit from the late '90's. I'll look a little more later today.Skip

Sounds like a printer port pass-thru. Many flash card readers and scanners used pass-thru adapters like you describe, before everything became USB. Enabled you to use the device (flash card reader or scanner) and still be connected to your printer.

You could be right about the late 90's I got a bunch of stuff from a guy who used to do computer work.
I looked all over and can not find any marking except for the word "Diamond" with the dot over the "i" being a diamond. That is what lead me to conclude it was a Diamond product. Their logo has the same diamond over the "i".
Thanks for the replies

It is a Diamond card...no doubt. And likely a thing called Maximum DVD.
Found this and little else:

Scroll down to "Other products"
If the kit is complete with dvd drive, cables, software, and documentation it would be interesting.
It would also be useless.

Unless you're sure it's diamond multimedia it could also be diamond flower. Maybe you can find it here:

If that doesn't help and there's no model # or FCC ID then post back what is written on the chips. Is it PCI or ISA?
