I'm trying to find a LCD/VFD display that I can use with my computer to display things like temperatures, CPU usage, media information, etc. However, I want something that is self-enclosed (not designed to be installed in a PC bay) and it needs to have drivers for 64-bit Vista.
I've looked at matrixOrbital and CrystalFontz, but haven't found a display that is both self enclosed and 64-bit compatible.
Did I just miss them, or what?

Ryan, just curious...have you ever asked for anything a normal mad scientist might want? :)
Some newer POS (naw, not that; Point of Sale) Systems run on Windows Server 2003/2008 and some use 64bit versions. I'm sure a scrolling customer display would be a little large for your needs though. These guys might be worth a look, they've come through for me quite a few times.

If I were a manufacturer, I wouldn't want to make anything like that. The problem is running the cables from outside into the case. They don't want to ask the customer to drill holes for the cables.
On second thought, I guess they could use USB for connecting. But I think the market for something like that is pretty small.

Jameco only seems to have parallel and serial displays.
