Hi,
I have a really big problem over here,
Today is was just doing some gaming and surfing on the internet (my pc was on for about 3 hrs) and while i was surfing and listening to music, the music suddenly stopt and i could not move the mouse anymore, the screen just froze...
So then i hit the reset button to restart but there wasn't any post and i had a blank screen...
So then i shut it off and then a few minutes later i switched it back on again, Now it could post again and i went directly to the BIOS, i checked all voltages and temperatures,, all seem to be perfectly normal..So then it booted into windows again just fine but after a few seconds when the desktop was loaded the same problem occurd and the screen froze again.. now i have this problem everytime and i can't do anything on my pc:(
It's a self-build system and i have it since about a year ago and never had any problems with it, I do have overclocked my CPU but i tested it in prime95 and it was perfectly stable...
It also could not be overheating because my CPU temp never goes above 40c and mobo temps never above 30cHere are my system specs:
AMD Athlon XP-Mobile 2500+ @ 220x11 (2430MHz)
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
512MB GEIL PC3200 @2,8v
1024MB Twinmos PC3200 @2,8v
Western Digital Caviar - S.E. 160GB 8MB cache
Gigabyte Geforce 6800GT 256MB @ 400/1100
WinTV 2000 pci tv-card
450Watt PSUSo please can somebody help me out with this one?,
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's a virus problem..
Because now i found something very strange, After it's frozen in windows, i hit reset and sometimes i do get a post beep and the asus speech reporter says just like normal: "Computer now booting from operating system" But i still have a blank screen and my monitor's LED is flashing..So does this mean it got something to do with my videocard..?

Personally I suspect the drivers. Of they're OK, I bet the video card is somewhat broken. I don't want to scare you, it's just what I suspect.
Alex.

Well i'm thinking the same yes, Just a few minutes ago i tried to start my comp again and now something even more strange happend..
Windows was just finished loading and i could use the system for about 3mins and then the screen went black and i hear my HDD shut down.. then the screen gives me a message that the frequency is out of range!
It says its at 37K / 0HZ!
WTF??

Open the case and make sure all fans are turning when you turn it on. Make sure you have a can of Air while your in there so you can clean it out. Re-seat the memory, CPU and Graphics card. If all fans are working try memtest86.com for a tester. Run the test for a couple of hours if the machine will keep running. Looks like heat or as mentioned, could have a virus. Have you ran your anti virus and spyware programs lately? Make sure they are updated. Run in safe mode if it will boot to that.
<===Lefty===
AMD 64 3200+
200 GB WD
Geforce 5500FX 256 MB
512 MB Ram Needs more.
Windows XP

Yes, all fans are running at normal speeds and also the videocard is not overheating, It's idle around 50c...
Also, i did a full system clean up last week, i removed all components, went over them with some decompressed air, then i reseated them.
So i will let memtest have a go tonight and i will scan my pc for virusses/spyware..
Hope that will do it, but thanks for your help so far you guys:)
