Im planning to get the ati radeon 9800 pro
and i have a1.6ghz
1g sdram
geforce 4 ti4400
20g hard drive
nec nr-7800 cdr
and my power supply is at 250 wTHANKS!

I don't think u need a new power supply... that should run it just fine.. unless ur planning to install WITH the geforce 4...

While i agree that you might not need a new PSU, 250W is pretty low, especially if you want to add a few components in the future. Most would recommend a minimum of 300-350W. Best PSU brands are probably Antec and Enermax, and you should be able to pick up a nice 350W for £40-50...less if you go for a less well established brand. Scan do some very good quiet dual fan PSUs at good prices.

I guess Ill install the card(9800pro) first and see if the computer starts. If it doesn't i guess ill need a new power supply. Thanks alot!

You might get by with a 250 but I would at least upgrade to a 300 while using that video card. I'm not huge advocate of saying you "need" something when you don't but a 9800 Pro on a 250 is asking for trouble during game play if it works.

300 watts is minimum for the Radeon 9800 PRO. 350 watts is recommanded. You can still run your Radeon 9800 PRO under 250 watts no problem, but your Power Supply aren't gonna last a long time. My friend has a Celeron 1.8Ghz 512DDR, with Radeon 7500 system with 200 watts Power supply. His P/S blew up within 9 months of usage. Unless you like to take the risk, go for it. Pentium 4 itself need 300 watts, and the Radeon 9800 PRO needs an external power source, so figure out urself.

i would like to make this pc
p4 3.0ghz 800fsb
1gb ram ddr-400
2 hard disks: 120 gb and 80 gb
cd writer and dvd writer
Network card, sound card ..
9800 pro radeonMy question:
is a 350 watt supply good, or not ?
