Windows XP , 64/1000MB

Okay, so about a week ago my computer
suddenly stopped working correctly
1. I can't run Search
2. when i open services.msc i get nothing
unless i
click on standard... and from there i can't open
properties
3. I can't seem to download anything
4. I can't make much of any file transfers
5. My Computer can't play audio it says it's
missing a mixing device...(i don't believe this is
related but i need Network DDE to be enabled
to fix it and i can't do that in the computer's
current state)
6. And as far as i can tell i can't run system restore

I believe i have the same issue as this guy
http://www.computing.net/answers/wi...
xp/servicesmsc-broken-no-
properties/74290.html
but as far as i can tell there is no solution and
i
can't find any way to fix this

Thanks

Your pc is infected by virus. Do you have any antivirus installed? Do you have latest update?Did u scan for virus? U better backup your data to another partion and try to repair(sometimes repair won't solve anything) if failed to repair u need to reinstal os.

originally i ran malware bytes once or twice a month and avg
once every week or 2... but whatever is doing this knocked out
malware bytes... i would gladly reinstall the os but there are files
from work that i need to get off of the computer and i need to find
a way to get them onto a flash drive
