Headphones work--Speakers dont

Specs: Windows XP, 208 ghz/2.0 gb

I have logitech headphones(usb) work fine. i added some desktop speakers and i get no sound at all. I checked all the settings,everything is unmuted,checked cables connections. I have no idea what to do. I looked a the device manager no ! or red. Sound is enabled Help!!!

Do the speakers worl when you unplug the headphones? She the sound configuration. It is possible that you can have speakers or headphones but not both.

I dont have the headphones plugged up at the same time. but if i plug in the headphones i have sound on everything if i use the speakers(headphones unplugged) no sound at all

You are using the wrong jack for each. Are you using front case jacks or rear?

When i plug the usb headphones in the front or back they work fine. when i have the speakers plugged in either front or back i have no sound. i have not had them both plugged in at the same time

What kind of speakers are you using? Powered? Subwoofer with speaker wires going to the sub?

What labels are on your jacks, both front and back? If none, what color are the ports?
