Hi. When I plug a pair of headphones into the headphones jack on my laptop (I've tried a few different pairs), the sound comes out of the right ear all of the time, but you have to jiggle the cable to get it to come out of the left side. Some cards with the l-shaped connector seem to work better, but you still have to play around with it.

Could it be possible that it's a problem with the sound card or the physical connector for the headphone jack, or could all the headphones I've tried have a problem? Thanks for any help.

Manufacturers don't spend dollars over female 1/8"
connectors... Is it conceivable it simply happens
to have its physical conformity out of tolerance?

These little plastic devices, on mass-market audio
products, are quite fragile so why not on LapTops!
