How do I get the Headphone jack on the front of my dvd-drive to work?

I am not sure... I don't have a jack in front of my DVD drive...

But, you might try clicking on the gold colored speaker in the bottom tool bar to the right of start... opposite side of the screen, and see if you can't enable that sound connection or something throught the options in that window... It would seem like a good place to start, if you haven't already tried that, that is.

the headphone jack is seperate from your computer settings and just pluggin in headphones should be enough, if there's no volume control on your dvd drive then you might need drivers or you might have to make sure your dvd drive is attached to your sound card...

Just plug your phones in. The software volume will not control the phone jack. Every drive I have seen had a volume control just for the headphone jack right beside it.
