I'm using the school computers to play a few games, but the speakers are all disabled by admins. Could you use the headphone jack on CD-ROM and set it up as a speaker, then install DirectSound or whatever it's called?

Sorry, you cant, cd-rom jack is a stand alone for the cd-drive
