Hi I have a sound blaster Live 5.1 X-Gamer It has this psuedo digital out at the back - is there a way to convert this to a head phone jack? right now i've stuck my head phone back there but i only get sound to one ear - depending on how far i stick it in.

The digital out on those cards also are for analog center channel. The audio you hear means your card is in 5.1 surround mode currently. You can use the speaker out as a headset plug, thats what I did on my SBLive! 5.1. Also, if you have only 2 speakers, you may want to check your sound card properties and select stereo, the center out should not be producing any audio with only 2 speakers...

i have a 4.1 speaker system attached to the 2 line out jacks - so i cant quite use those because i tend to listen to my music loud when people in the house aren't sleeping
